My Background

Since beginning my undergraduate studies in chemical engineering at the University of Utah I've learned from great academic and industrial experiences. My professional experiences range from working at a start-up alternative energy company to being a process engineer for the concentrator at the US's largest copper producer to developing numerical simulations of combustion processes.

Though all of these contributed to the discovery of my passions, mathematical modeling and simulation of complex processes has drawn my focus. A rotation in Garnet Chan's group at Caltech piqued my interest in computational chemistry and I've joined his group with intentions to develop novel methods aimed at improving quantum chemical calculations.

If you'd like to learn more about the projects I am working on and things I've done in the past, my Projects page provides brief descriptions and links to deeper resources. Also, feel free to take a look at my resume page to see a full summary of my experiences and skills. I'm beginning a blog where I'll post my advice, tips, and viewpoints on a variety of scientific-research related topics. If you have any questions or would like to discuss any opportunities I'd be happy to hear from you - contact me via my contact page or send me an e-mail.
